Student safety is our highest priority.  We are acting on advice in relation to Coronavirus to ensure we can look after the welfare of all staff, students and visitors to GFT.

Further to the Secretary of States announcement  to close all schools and colleges from Friday 20th March until further notice, GFT have informed all students to stay at home and work with their tutors through our on-line learning platforms. Letters have been sent to parents regarding our plans.

All apprentices will be notified of our continuity plan through their Learning Coaches.

We are keeping students, parents and staff informed of the latest developments and advice from the relevant authorities through our website and social media channels.

GFT is currently still open, in line with government advice, for staff only and has to date not had any confirmed cases on site.

In the meantime, we are encouraging everyone to take necessary precautions and follow the NHS advice:

  • Wash hands regularly with soap and water
  • Cover mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing
  • Refrain from touching face without washing hands
  • Do not share items that come into contact with the mouth e.g. bottles/cups

The Department for Education coronavirus helpline is available to answer questions regarding to education. The helpline is open Monday – Friday between 8am-6pm.

 The helpline number is: 0800 046 8687.
