Student safety is our highest priority. We are acting on Government advice in relation to Coronavirus to ensure we can look after the welfare of all staff, students and visitors to GFT.
All apprentices will be notified of our continuity plan through their Development Tutors
All students, parents and staff will be informed of the latest developments and advice from the relevant authorities through our website and social media channels.
Details of the procedures for the re-opening of GFT will be sent out to all students and parents attending the centre.
It is important to recognise the big difference from last time in that education settings will remain open, the Government is continuing to prioritise the wellbeing and long-term futures of our young people and will not be closing schools, colleges or universities.
Therefore GFT will remain open for all our Study Programme students and those that need to take Functional Skills tests. Existing arrangements to continue supporting our apprenticeship learners remotely will remain the same. It remains very important for young people to attend, to support their wellbeing and education.
In the meantime, we are encouraging everyone to take necessary precautions and follow the NHS advice:
- Wash hands regularly with soap and water
- Cover mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing
- Refrain from touching face without washing hands
- Do not share items that come into contact with the mouth e.g. bottles/cups
NHS Track and trace is operational at our site.
The Department for Education coronavirus helpline is available to answer questions regarding to education. The helpline is open Monday – Friday between 8am-6pm.
