Construction Gateway Opportunity:
 
ThWest Midlands Combined Authority have recognised the skills shortage in the construction sector, with the upcoming regeneration projects in the Midlands such as HS2, the commonwealth games and highways England, this shortage needs to be addressed.
 
This Access To Construction Programme will support unemployment people that are 18+ to fast-track into a construction career. By offering a 20 day pre-employment programme, inclusive of a work experience component and guaranteed job interview at the end, candidates will be site ready by the end of the programme.
 
This scheme will allow candidates to earn recognised industry qualifications, such as a CSCS card, Level 1 Health & Safety, Asbestos Awareness and Streetworks. There will be sessions delivered that will enhance employability, such as CV workshops and personal branding. Those that successfully complete the programme will be able to progress onto a real job vacancy with some of the biggest construction employers!
 
Assessment Day:  Birmingham Central Jobcentre (previously Broad Street) on Wednesday 6th February 2019 at 2.00 p.m. (maximum 20 people)
