Meet the team

Ann Cox – Recruitment Co-Ordinator

Ann has worked at GFT for over 16 years, on and off, starting as an assessor way back in 1990, hence she has a wealth of knowledge of the training industry, with a particular interest in quality improvement. As her main expertise is in developing operational improvements she set up the quality dept for GFT in 2013, which ensured that the company remained at ‘good’ in our recent Ofsted, which is no mean feat nowadays. With this background Ann has now moved over to recruitment to provide a fresh perspective in this area to ensure that all learners and employers are happy and receive an outstanding service. Aside from the day to day managing of the recruitment team, Ann can be found cheering her 2 children on in swimming competitions.

Shakera Rahman – Deputy Recruitment Co-Ordinator

Shakera started with us as a Business Apprentice and is now a Deputy Recruitment Co-ordinator, managing the recruitment of candidates onto our programmes, training new apprentices in the team and developing strategies on how to improve our recruitment services. She has been working with us for over 12 years with expertise in the services we offer to candidates, employers and parents.  She has experienced varied roles during her time with us, including Coaching, Mentoring, Tutoring, Advice & Guidance. She thrives on candidates achieving their goals and becoming successful, with us being a part of that journey.

Her interests are fashion, yoga, movies and nature documentaries (particularly anything by David Attenborough).

Alex Redican – Business Development Officer

Alex joined the team as an apprentice in August 2015 and has done a variety of recruitment roles at GFT in his time here. Alex loves hitting targets and will not stop working until his targets have been met or exceeded. In his spare time Alex lives an exciting life; he likes to sit at home watching documentaries, playing video games and talking to his cat.

Jennifer Coulson – Placement Liaison Officer

Since joining GFT in 2014 Jennifer has recruited apprentices in all sectors. She is passionate about finding the right apprentice for the role, and the right role for the apprentice. She has since gained Information, Advice and Guidance Level 3 qualification whilst at Gordon Franks Training. Out of the office, Jennifer enjoys Netflix and relaxing after running around after two children.

Georgia Fielding – Digital Marketing and Design

Georgia joined GFT in March 2017 with the aim to develop a new digital strategy for the company. Since then, she has boosted the GFT social media channels and created us a brand new website that opens up more digital opportunities for the company. Georgia also studies BA(Hons) Digital Marketing at Birmingham City University, and enjoys playing football for a local team in her spare time.

Chris Steeley – Admin Assistant

Recently Joined GFT to complete his Business Administration Level 3 Qualification, Chris is easy going, friendly and has a great eye for detail.

Chris is a keen gamer and sports fan, enjoys watching Birmingham City FC (When they don’t lose of course). He is pretty good at FIFA (not to brag!) and will offer any lessons out if anyone needs them.

Joanita Manka – Trainee Business Development

I am passionate about succeeding in life and always putting in 100% in what I do. I love happy hour and going out to have a good time.
